The events timeline and the keyboard
The Events tab of an execution's detail lists its events in a timeline, and the Event details pane shows the event selected in it. You can move that selection from the keyboard as well as with the mouse.
The keys
- ↓ and ↑. ↓ selects the next event, and ↑ the previous one. They do not wrap: at the last event ↓ changes nothing, and at the first ↑ changes nothing.
- Home and End. Home selects the first event, and End the last.
A key that moves the selection scrolls that event into view, shows it in the Event details pane, and turns Follow off, as a click on the event does. The page itself does not scroll.
When the keys act
- One tab stop. The timeline is one stop in the tab order. Its events are not stops of their own, so Tab moves past the whole list in one step.
- Only with focus. The keys act only while the timeline has focus. Pressed from another control, such as the Follow checkbox, or with ⌘, Ctrl, or Alt held, they change nothing.
- A click gives focus. Clicking an event gives the timeline focus, so the arrow keys work right after the click.
With assistive technology
Assistive technology reads the timeline as a list named "Event timeline", whose selected option is the selected event.
